So… If I could go back in time and give my younger self advice, what would it be?
NO, I won’t. That’s what I would like to say to you, WordPress.
It’s a Sunday dumbo. Enough of this back and forth. Give us a break please! We have been playing therapists for our younger selves for too long now. We deserve some distance from each other before we tear each other’s skin out!
Phew…again?
You have a habit of raking up the past every so often, making us peek into our younger selves’ lives and forcing us to offer them advice—more than anyone asked for or even needed!
You have never been young and bull-headed, have you, WordPress? Which young’un takes advice from the elderly? I am only 45, but my younger version would think of me as an old, boring crone who is wasting her life by not living on the edge! I know her—like literally!
Also, how much is too much time travel before my body begins to act like the LED bulb in my room that would rather flicker its way to a slow, painful death?
So, you know what? I am just going to post the links of the best advice I have already given the young’ uns. Not just my younger self.
Allow me to do some seva for the entire youth of the world, no? Why restrict myself to just my younger self, eh?
Beginning with immense love and gratitude because that is something the old ‘uns don’t offer the youth freely.
I know you are curious, so here’s a sneak peek.
I am at the zenith of everything a human could achieve, everything you ever desired of becoming.
I am the sum total of every impossible you made possible.
I am who I am because of you and I can never thank you enough.
Someday when you are here where I stand now, I hope you are just as proud of me and my journey as I am of you and yours.
I love you, my dearest Jerrylet. You will always be my everlasting sunshine.
With immense respect and gratitude,
Your future self,
An older Jerrylet.
P.S. Please do wear your favorite Sherlock Holmes hat when you fall in love. Don’t forget to do a thorough background check of the men you will come to worship and proclaim as God personified. You never know what they might be hiding underneath that handsome face.
There’s more from where that beauty came from. Please hit the link below for more. I am sleepy now.
Next up, some real life advice offered here gained through many failures and experiences that left me with a chess board for a head.
An excerpt:
You are the eternal light locked within the confines of the body you hate so much. See through the skin kiddo. There is nothing that is impossible for you. You are possibility and potential…waiting. A nebula of starlight. Don’t lose your sanity to the braying of your mind. The moment you learn stillness is the day you truly begin to walk your true path.
I will say this again, as I do each year we meet. You will be the most amazing person you will ever meet…you better believe it. The world will tell you otherwise, heck even you yourself will tell you otherwise. Don’t fall for it however charming it might sound.
Don’t fight the world to win. Fight your mind. You are your worst enemy. So fight yourself to let go of all the weight of the world you so insist on carrying. Stop being the sacrificial goat! You ain’t Atlas, I will tell you that!
Forgive. Forgive. Forgive.
Why, you ask?
Well…click the link below for more, will you?
What more? Well…advice cleverly hidden within what looks like a pamphlet enticing you to head to Maasai Mara on a safari to catch the Big Five live in action.
I won’t leave you with breadcrumbs. Stop being a lazy bug and click the link below to read the whole thing. To the very last word. PRONTO!
Now that I have done enough seva for generations of youth to come in the near future, let this old one go and take her nap, WordPress.
And stop bugging me for more life advice please. Especially not on the weekend! Have some shame, will you?
