How do I write what people actually want to read?
I will be frank.
Frank and Brutal.
No mincing words. No being nice trying to pretend to be kind.
Because this is ME. Unfiltered as they come.
I don’t write for people. And I am not sorry about it.
I write about me. Without any filter.
The trails my heart walked and the trials it endured.
The fires my mind churned and the pyres it burned.
The songs my soul sang and the wrongs it righted.
This has been my life.
And this is the journey I am chronicling here.
I used to be a chronic people-pleaser and I have been a business owner in a field that needed to please people day in and day out.
And I will NEVER recommend it to anyone.
I am not writing to please you.
I am not writing to please myself.
I am just here writing because I am genuinely excited about sharing my life’s experiences, joys, loves, loss, embarassments, foibles, failures and some odd surprising successes.
I agree I overshare sometimes. But do I look like I am ashamed about it?
Absolutely not.
So there…
I have been writing for many years now over different blogs and different blogging platforms. What always gets the most votes is honesty, authenticity and an attitude of not taking life too seriously.
I have ALWAYS been unabashedly true to myself and honest about it and that is what reflects in my blog and in my words.
And judging by the looks of it, you have always loved my words. Sometimes more than I could have imagined. Genuinely appreciating my frankness and brutal honesty.
So if you ask me, my advice is to be honest, authentic and true to yourself when you write.
In the long run, that is the only thing that works.
