Scintilla : Of Love and Loss

Stone fireplace with ashes and burned logs inside an old dilapidated room

A short poem of 28 words written for Sammi Cox’s weekend challenge.

Tulip hearted,

A firefly to guide,

I fly!

Come… Let’s forge our horizon!

Alas!

An empty you,

Bereft of US.

Not a scintilla of hope,

For our hearth.

Scintilla: Of love and loss . Seen here, a stone fireplace with ashes and burned logs inside an old dilapidated room
Love: What once was warm now lies cold and abandoned.

  1. Great imagery – you transition sharply from soaring optimism to profound heartbreak in just a few lines 🙌
